A small, stone building with a grass roof sits in the foreground, while a windmill and bare trees are visible in the background.

For 73 years, the authentic Sod House at Harold Warp Pioneer Village has stood as a powerful testament to the resilience and resourcefulness of Nebraska’s early pioneers. Sadly, recent severe storms have taken a heavy toll on this beloved structure, compromising its stability and making it unsafe for our visitors. To ensure that future generations can continue to experience this vital piece of Great Plains history, we have determined that the safest and most sustainable course of action is a complete, historically accurate reconstruction rather than a temporary restoration.  By supporting the Sod House Reconstruction Project today, your generous donation will directly help us rebuild this landmark from the ground up, keeping the spirit of pioneer perseverance alive right here in Minden.
