🌟 Preserving the Herding Instinct! 🌟 At Center for Herding Instinct Preservation, our mission is to support sustainable agriculture by incorporating herding dogs into daily livestock management. &nbsp; While it&#39;s hard to overstate the importance of dogs for livestock management since the earliest days of shepherding, modern agriculture has become more and more mechanized and motorized. &nbsp;At the Center for Herding Instinct Preservation, we believe a working dog helps farmers be more resilient: &nbsp;scampering down a ditch to find a missing lamb, separating cow/calf pairs to allow the farmer to examine a newborn calf, helping load stock on a trailer. &nbsp;All this while providing that unconditional love that makes dog ownership so rewarding. We are currently fundraising for a pilot project to bring a trained dog to a cattle farm in Maine. &nbsp;We estimate the total cost, including care and transportation as well as working with the farmer to customize the dog&#39;s skills to the daily operations of the farm, is about $6,500. &nbsp;&nbsp; Donate now! &nbsp;We have a generous donor that is matching new donations up to $1,000 of our $6,500 goal.
