The Quincy House Repair Fund covers essential fixes to our building so youth can count on a warm, welcoming space to study, share a meal, and talk with caring adults. Quincy House experienced a category 3 flooding on the lower level on August 11 due to a failed hot water heater combined with a break in the septic line resulting in catastrophic loss; insurance will only cover a minor portion of the cost to restore the programming house to a safe state. Floor coverings, drywall and cabinets had to be removed and both bathrooms have issues that contributed to the issue and need some renovation as well. Until the house is repaired, our programming will need to pause or pivot. When the house is safe and the lights stay on, at-risk teens can focus on homework, mentoring, and learning life skills&mdash;not on whether the space is safe.
