Restore the Glory of the Sanctuary Where the Relics of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Rest—the Holy Virgin Cathedral! Dear Beloved Community, We come before you with a heartfelt appeal to join us in restoring the sacred beauty and functionality of the Holy Virgin Cathedral of San Francisco, the cherished resting place of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco’s relics. Our cathedral, a sanctuary of spiritual solace and communal strength, is in urgent need of renovations to continue serving as a beacon of hope and faith for all who enter its doors. As we prepare for our parish’s 100th anniversary in 2027, we are undertaking an important and painstaking project: the cleaning, restoration and preservation of our murals. For decades, the glow of candles and rising incense have filled Holy Virgin Cathedral with prayer. Over time, however, soot has darkened our sacred murals, while moisture has caused deterioration. Your generous contributions will play a vital role in the restoration of the Holy Virgin Cathedral of San Francisco. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our collective goal of preserving our sacred space for generations to come. Capital improvement funds raised to date have helped to fund the following projects: revitalization of all three iconostasis; gilding of St. John's reliquary; new runner rugs; restoration of our exterior crosses after severe weather damage. Please consider a donation. Every dollar counts and helps us to reach our goal. Please also share the campaign with your friends, family and on social media. Your advocacy can amplify our impact. Together, let us unite in faith and action to ensure that the Holy Virgin Cathedral of San Francisco remains a beacon of light, love, and divine grace in our ever-changing world. With deepest gratitude and blessings, Holy Virgin Cathedral of San FranciscoFundraising Committee
