The River Tech school building was destroyed by a fire Saturday night. All students and staff are safe.The fire damaged the back half of the building where River Tech School meets at The River Church, destroying classrooms and school facilities. We have been informed by the fire marshal that the building cannot be used at least through the end of this semester. River Tech is now working to secure a temporary location so classes can resume as soon as possible. Many classroom materials, equipment, and supplies used by our students were lost in the fire. Our $50,000 goal covers what it takes to finish the school year strong &mdash; keeping our 6 teachers paid through the transition, securing a temporary space to hold classes, and replacing the curriculum, instruments, and supplies locked inside a damaged building.
