A grey cat sits in the foreground of a catio, with a brown tabby cat and a wind chime visible in the background.

Every cat in our lounge is waiting for a family. While they wait, let’s give them room to breathe. Since opening in 2019, The Kitty Beautiful has helped more than 1,200 rescued cats find their forever homes. Each one comes to us from our rescue partner, CATS CAN, after vet care and foster, and spends their wait in our cat lounge, where you meet them. Last year, donors like you replaced our cracked concrete floor with a clean, anti-microbial epoxy floor. Now we’re taking the next step. Room to Breathe will fund: 🪟 Two new windows in the cat lounge and an exhaust fan in the litter room, for fresh air and natural light. 🚪 A screened back door for a cool cross-breeze on nice Florida days 🧺 An on-site washer and dryer, so every blanket, bed and towel gets washed right here, every day Fresh air means healthier cats, a calmer lounge and a better visit for every future adopter who walks through our door. Give monthly to go further. A small monthly gift keeps the cats covered all year. The Kitty Beautiful Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-3732370). Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law. 🐾 📋 The plan, by the numbersWe’ve done our homework. A local contractor with 30 years of experience has inspected the space and given us a written bid for the full project, permits included. Project - Estimated Costs

Two new windows in the cat lounge, cut into the block wall with steel lintels, finished inside and out: $12,000

Washer and dryer hookup: hot and cold water, drain, dryer vent to the outside, new electrical, plus permits for all work: $8,000

Secure screen door on the back door, for a cool cross-breeze: $800

Exhaust fan in the litter room, to pull odors outside all day: $600

Washer and dryer: About $2,000

Total : About $23,400

Our $25,000 goal includes a small cushion for surprises that come up in an older building. Anything left over goes straight to cat care and the next round of improvements. What happens next: as soon as we reach our goal, we sign the contract, pull permits and get to work. We’ll post photos as every window goes in. 🐾
