If we reach our $1 million goal, these funds will go directly into sustaining and expanding programs that reclaim identity, foster strength, and empower youth through land-based, culture-first education. These donations will help us invest in our Elders, our youth, and the future of our communities.Funds will allow us to honor our Fluent Elders and Cultural Knowledge Keepers, ensuring their teachings—like root digging, storytelling, dancing, and basketry—are preserved and passed on. It will provide tools and resources like sewing machines, canners, root diggers, craft materials, and fire pits for cultural learning. Larger needs, like a flatbed trailer, will help us transport equipment and continue creating land-based experiences.We will be able to support travel for our youth and families to deepen their connection to the land and culture and ensure there is food for culture camps, camping trips, and community gatherings.This funding will also allow us to hire more curriculum developers, cultural knowledge keepers, and mentors while supporting teachers with trauma-informed education rooted in sqilxʷ practices.Most importantly, reaching this goal means we can sustain this movement and share the path we are creating. The work we are doing is bigger than us—we are building a foundation, a cultural education model that can be shared and implemented in other Indigenous communities.We have already accomplished so much with limited resources—creating a culture-first, land-based school where our youth can reconnect with their identity, their land, and their strength. But there is still so much more to fight for.This is about sovereignty. This is about creating a future where our youth know exactly who they are and where they come from. When we rise together, we create a path for generations to come.
