Dear Family, Friend and Donor,  Imagine being a young student in Tucson and never seeing a Black teacher, a Black principal, or even a Black lunch lady at your school. For many of us kids, that's our reality. Without role models who look like us, college can feel like something "other kids do."  That's why Tucson Educational and Empowerment for Minorities exists. Each year, T.E.E.M. takes Tucson's Black youth on tours of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and pair us with mentors who guide us toward higher education. For many, it's our first time that we step onto a campus where professors, leaders, and students look like us. For the first time, we can imagine: "This could be me."  This year we leave on Nov 28th the day after Thanksgiving for 8 days and we visit 8 HBCU's, we attend the Bayou Classic Battle of the Bands and football game. It's Southern VS Grambling. We fly on planes and ride on a tour bus! We will return on Saturday Dec 6th. These trips change lives. We return with more confidence, goals, and a sense of belonging that cannot be taught in a classroom.  Your gift—no matter the size—sends a clear message: "I belong. I matter.
