Los Lowriders: De Detroit a LA y de regreso es un proyecto de fotograf&iacute;a documental l&iacute;rica de 20 a&ntilde;os que profundiza en el coraz&oacute;n de la cultura lowrider, con Detroit como su centro.Los coches que sirven como lowriders tradicionales fueron dise&ntilde;ados y construidos originalmente en Detroit. Fueron enviados por el mundo e inspiraron a varias culturas de personalizaci&oacute;n automotriz, muchas de las cuales regresaron a la ciudad motora misma. In Los Angeles, late 1930&rsquo;s Pachuco culture popularized the low-slung stance that came to be a lowriding social and stylistic statement. In the 1950&rsquo;s LA innovated hydraulic suspensions, with the ability to adjust the cars&rsquo; ride height while still driving. This was a response to law enforcement&rsquo;s targeted crackdowns, but it became a qualifying modification of lowriders soon thereafter. Erik Paul Howard is a lens-based artist and cultural organizer born and raised in Southwest Detroit sharing stories of community formed through shared passions and intersecting needs. Howard&rsquo;s work serves as a visual index of his communities&rsquo; traditions, culture and history.
