🌱 Sponsor a Grower - FUNctions on the Farm&nbsp; In a city facing food apartheid, our young people are growing a food forest with their own hands.&nbsp; Petersburg is Growing, is Black-led and Petersburg-rooted. We&#39;re not a program that parachutes in and leaves when the grant runs out. For over a decade we&#39;ve shown up on the same soil with the same families growing the same young people from their very first day on the farm all the way to leading the work themselves. We don&#39;t run programs for our community; we grow our community&#39;s own children into its leaders. That&#39;s the difference and it&#39;s the thing no outside organization can buy. FUNctions on the Farm is where a young person&#39;s journey begins: nine hands-on experiences across three pathways:- Soil&nbsp;to Stomach 🌱- Food to Medicine 🌿- Growers to Leaders ♻️ Our young people compost and plant, make medicine from the garden, harvest with the seasons, learn where food and money come from, and discover the gifts they&#39;ll grow into. Every function opens with breath, affirmation, gratitude, and libations to honor the ancestors who worked this land before us. This is rooted joyful identity building learning you will not find anywhere else because it is of Petersburg, grown by Petersburg&#39;s own,&nbsp;and it&#39;s a beginning not an end.&nbsp; The child who plants a seed at a function today is on the path to running this farm, leading a fellowship, and one day sitting on the board that governs it. We&#39;ve watched it happen. A young person who came to us as a volunteer now runs his own business and helps lead our youth board.
