Every contribution, large or small, helps make this beautiful ministry possible. Animated by hope, grounded in faith. The St. Monica Ministry is a dedicated community and prayer network offering hope and support to the families and friends of fallen-away Catholics. In imitation of St. Monica, who persevered in petition and self-denial for the sake of her son Augustine’s return to the Faith, the members of the St. Monica Ministry pray, fast, and care unconditionally for loved ones who have left the Church. The ministry was formed in November 2022 at the behest of the Most Reverend Alfred A. Schlert, Bishop of the Diocese of Allentown, PA. What started as a gathering of local Catholics has become a global outreach, with 42 parish-based chapters in the U.S. and subscribers on five continents. St. Monica Ministry Hands & Hearts program The Hands & Hearts program aims to promote devotion to the rosary while drawing lapsed Catholics home to the Faith. Each Hands & Hearts event offers expert rosary-making instruction, a small prize giveaway, and a brief presentation on St. Monica. Hands & Hearts participants will each create and take home a beautiful St. Monica Ministry rosary plus a copy of the meditations for the Rosary of Supplication for Our Prodigals. The hosting parish or facility need only provide participants and refreshments. There is no fee to partner with St. Monica Ministry for Hands & Hearts events in the Allentown Diocese and Archdiocese of Philadelphia, but free-will donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated.
