There, Brigadier General Guy O. Fort, the only U.S.-born general executed by enemy forces, and West Point graduate Lt. Col. Robert H. Vesey, who volunteered to die in Fort&rsquo;s place, met their ends alongside Capt. Albert Price and Sgt. John Chandler. Their courage was unmatched, yet their remains were never recovered. Add to this the little-known &ldquo;Mindanao Death March&rdquo; and the unresolved case of a B-24 bomber still holding evidence in its wreckage, and the truth is undeniable: these men were written off by the system, their families given &ldquo;closure&rdquo; on paper but not in reality.
