Granby Homes For Senior Citizens Inc. (GHSC) is the non-profit corporation that developed Stony Hill Village in two phases. The first phase is around 50 years old, the second phase is 30 years old. Our goal is to maintain this property in a manner that we would want for our parents and other family members. Funds are needed to replace aging roofs and the siding on the buildings. Additionally, the Community Building needs a total renovation. As the social center for our residents, many of whom no longer drive and do not leave the property often, the Community Building is an important part of the fabric of our community. We also need to implement energy conservation and fire safety improvements, as well as support the day-to-day maintenance of this multi-acre property. Stony Hill Village is a USDA supported residential community. Residents are either income eligible at 62 years of age or older, or 18 years of age with disabilities. Currently, 40 units are rented to senior or disabled residents through the Rural Assistance program, which subsidizes up to 70% of the rental cost. The remaining 9 units are non-subsidized.
