If you&#39;ve spent any time around Desert Dog Project, chances are you&#39;ve seen the incredible impact Liz has made. Liz has dedicated countless hours to helping dogs who had nowhere else to turn. As one of our longtime volunteers and foster heroes, she has opened her home to dozens of dogs, including some of our most medically fragile cases. Time and time again, she has patiently nursed them back to health, giving them the love, care, and second chance they deserved. When she&#39;s not volunteering, Liz works as a nurse, continuing her lifelong passion of caring for others. Serving people and animals isn&#39;t just something she does. It&#39;s who she is. Recently, Liz was seriously injured while intervening in a dog fight to protect her own dog. In the process, she sustained severe injuries to both of her arms that required multiple surgeries.&nbsp; Her recovery will be long. Liz is expected to be unable to work for many months and currently requires around-the-clock assistance with everyday activities. With both arms recovering from surgery, she is unable to care for herself independently and faces extensive rehabilitation before she can return to work. We&#39;re asking our community to rally around someone who has spent so much of her life caring for everyone else.
