Boys become strong men when strong men invest in them.I grew up in a Navy family. My father served our country, and that meant long stretches when he simply wasn't home. What filled the gap were men of integrity who chose to invest in me: men who showed up, taught me, and modeled what a man of character looks like. That investment changed the direction of my life. Today, about 1 in 5 American children lives in a mother-only household, more than 15 million kids (Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, 2022 data; U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 data). Those numbers measure where children live, not how involved their fathers are. But they point to something we see every day: many boys are growing up without a man consistently in their corner. The pattern shows up later in life, too. In a 2016 national survey of people in state and federal prisons, 41.1% said they grew up primarily with their mother, compared with 35.5% who grew up with both parents (Bureau of Justice Statistics, Survey of Prison Inmates, 2016). Family structure doesn't decide a boy's future. But it's one more sign of how much a steady, caring man in his life can matter. Men With Hearts exists to change that. We pair vetted, background-checked men with boys through campouts, hikes, fishing, building projects, leadership challenges, and service. Since our first camp-out in 2025, we've seen what happens when a boy spends a weekend learning, working, and laughing alongside men who care about him. Men With Hearts existe para cambiar eso.
