Reel South Cinema expands access to film and filmmaking across the South. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, we work to remove barriers between Southern audiences and a wider world of cinema while helping Southern filmmakers find the resources and support they need to create, finish, and share their work. Our work grows from years of screenings, festivals, programming, writing, and community events, with a longstanding commitment to femme, queer, nonbinary, Southern, and other underrepresented voices in film. We believe where you live shouldn't determine what you get to see! Or whether you get the opportunity to make something of your own! Southern audiences deserve access to films from different places, cultures, eras, and points of view, and Southern filmmakers deserve meaningful opportunities to get their work onto screens here and beyond.Your support helps us grow the Reel South Film Guide and other audience resources, bring films to local screens, support Hauntsville Film Fest, work with filmmakers, develop educational opportunities, build partnerships, and respond to the gaps that keep people from participating in cinema. The South deserves access to the world's cinema, and the world deserves access to Southern cinema. There's more to see down South. There’s more to see down South!
