A blue cartoon seal leaps through the air, launching a disc toward large yellow letters against a plain white background.

🌊 Free of charge. Not free of cost. 🌊 San Francisco Sea Lions Underwater Hockey Club has been playing since 1974, and every Friday at MLK Jr. Pool, kids ages 11–18 play a sport almost nobody has heard of, at no cost to their families. No membership, no season fee, no registration fee. Since 2015, 38 Youth Sea Lions have made Team USA before finishing high school, competing at world championships in Spain, Australia, Malaysia and Türkiye. Nobody on the pool deck is paid. The pool is. Pool time, gear, insurance and tournament fees add up to about $10,000 a year, and every coach, board member and helper is a volunteer. What your gift does:• $5 covers one kid's spot at a youth practice• $135 covers a full Friday night of pool time• $540 covers a month of Fridays• $375 outfits a player with everything they need Why every gift matters: $5 counts as much as $5,500. When every family gives something, we can tell grant funders that 100% of our community backs this program, and that opens doors no single gift can.  Thank you for keeping youth underwater hockey free for every family who wants to play.
