Sonny, also known as Champagne Cruise, is a valued member of the Spur&rsquo;n Up Hope herd. Sonny&rsquo;s story is one of adjustment, patience, and purpose. Because of nerve damage, he can no longer be used in the same ways some horses might be. But at Spur&rsquo;n Up Hope, a horse does not have to be ridden to have a powerful role. Sonny is a ground teacher. His work happens through presence, connection, awareness, and trust. He helps participants learn how to slow down, pay attention, and understand what their energy, body language, and choices communicate. At Spur&rsquo;n Up Hope, Sonny is especially meaningful for participants who need to learn patience, confidence, and emotional regulation. He does not respond to pressure or force. He asks people to become calm, clear, and respectful. That is where the lesson begins. Sonny reminds participants that limitations do not erase value. A different path can still have deep purpose.
