Many people assume that student-athletes receive scholarships that cover all of their educational and living expenses. In reality, financial aid, scholarships, and grants often fall short of the true cost of attendance, leaving significant financial gaps for necessities such as food, housing, transportation, and emergency expenses. Some colleges do not provide dormitories or meal plans, leaving students responsible for housing and living costs. International student-athletes may face additional challenges, including tuition, housing, food, transportation, and other educational expenses when scholarship opportunities are limited or unavailable. Through the generosity of donors and community partners, H.O.P.E. helps bridge these financial gaps so student-athletes can focus on earning a degree, competing in their sport, and building a brighter future.
