The&nbsp;2nd Annual 40 Days of Peace and Community Building, led by High Hope Freeport in partnership with&nbsp;Faith Leaders for Peace, is a neighborhood-centered initiative focused on bringing peace, hope, healing, and meaningful resources directly into underserved and under-resourced neighborhoods in Freeport, Illinois. Through a&nbsp;Peace March, Beautify the Block, Resource Block Parties, Church in the Streets&nbsp;(Faith Leaders For Peace), and direct outreach, this initiative brings visible support, encouragement, and community connection right to the block. Last year, even with some misunderstanding and misinformation surrounding the initiative, the work still made a real impact. Through the first 40 Days of Peace and Community Building, we collected over&nbsp;300 community feedback surveys, served more than 400 people with free food and water, distributed gun locks through Be SMART for Kids, provided 15 home cameras, connected 22 community members to mental health, housing, and childcare support, welcomed over&nbsp;400 attendees, provided free clothes and toys to more than 150 children, engaged&nbsp;80 youth in the&nbsp;Shoot Hoops Not Guns basketball tournament, and mediated 7 conflicts through outreach, trusted relationships, and direct community connection, helping prevent reciprocal community violence. This year, we want to build on that impact. Your donation will help support food and water, cleanup supplies, outreach materials, youth and family engagement, event support, community resources, and peace-centered neighborhood presence across multiple locations in Freeport.
