Ryan Firster has spent years showing up for others. As a longtime volunteer firefighter with the Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department and a supporter and volunteer with The Zen Dads, Ryan has always been willing to lend a hand when his community needed him. Now, Ryan and his family need their community. Ryan was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to other areas of his body. He is undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, making frequent trips to the cancer center, and has been unable to work. His wife is caring for him, managing his medications and appointments, and caring for their daughters while the family faces the loss of Ryan’s income and an uncertain road ahead. Ryan has always been a hardworking provider with a big heart. We want him focused on fighting this disease—not worrying about how his family will make ends meet. The Zen Dads is asking our community to come together and support the Firster family. All money raised through this campaign will be given directly to the family to help with household expenses, transportation, meals, and other needs throughout Ryan’s treatment. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign and help us reach others.Ryan has always answered the call for his community. Now, it is our turn to answer the call for him and his family.
