Creating a space like The Local takes dedication, strategy, planning, vision and community support! &ldquo;I&#39;m still buzzing from the Local and its welcoming crowd and your positive-energy hospitality, and of course the lovely town surrounding it. I had really no idea when we arranged the gig that the vibe would be so positive. I could feel the audience&#39;s attention, the sound embracing the chapel walls... Our fundraising goals are driven by our mission to make the arts accessible through acclaimed live music and dance programming, thought-provoking conversations, and community building. With your help, we&rsquo;ll be able to expand our offerings and maintain our venue, pay artists fairly and boost local business! We hope to raise $40,000 to:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="box-sizing:inherit;" style="box-sizing:inherit;">Pay off our mini-split installation costs ($10,000) In September 2025, the Saugerties Kiwanis Club gave us a grant that covered almost half of our mini-split installation which allows us stay open year-round. But, we still need to raise $10,000 to pay off the remainder of the mini split costs. &nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="box-sizing:inherit;" style="box-sizing:inherit;">Expand programming &nbsp;($20,000) By creating a programming fund we&rsquo;ll be able continue bringing extraordinary artists from &ldquo;around the world and around the corner,&quot; pay artists fairly, &nbsp;keep ticket prices affordable and ensure our events stay vibrant and exciting.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="box-sizing:inherit;" style="box-sizing:inherit;">Keep local history alive as our building turns 150 years old ($5,000) The beautiful stained glass star on the front of our building is a symbol that represents many cultures and beliefs; it&rsquo;s an emblem of how The Local aims to be an inclusive center for arts, culture, and community. Recently we removed the plywood that has covered the star and now we need to stabilize and restore it and do other repairs to the historic chapel*&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="box-sizing:inherit;" style="box-sizing:inherit;">Offer rental discounts to local nonprofits, community organizations, creative programs, and other projects ($5,000) Help us create a fund to subsidize rentals to local nonprofits, community organizations and artists that allows them to produce events at The Local at reduced costs.</li><li fr-original-style="box-sizing:inherit;" style="box-sizing:inherit;">Enhance the audience experience - the sky&#39;s the limit!.
