A professional recording and production studio in a 53-foot trailer, built to take media arts training to underserved youth at schools or other community sites. TechKno Academy has taught film, music and sound to young people on Chicago&#39;s South Side since 2012. More than 500 students have come through, taught by working music producers, recording artists, film directors, audio engineers and videographers. They make their living doing this, and they teach because someone once gave them the same opening. The programs have always run in space that schools and partner organizations provided. The MEMa Studio changes that: a full recording and production facility built into a 53-foot trailer, with two mix control rooms, a performance space and fifteen student workstations. It will park at a school, run a program, and move on to the next one. Your gift builds it. The programs run either way, and have since 2012. The Studio is what makes them reach further. Gifts to this campaign fund the trailer build. If you would rather fund a group of students directly, our TechKno Academy Fall Cohort campaign does that.
