Since 2007, members of Clay firefighters Local 1630 have come together to grow mustaches while raising money for the Great Lakes Burn Camp for Kids.
The Great Lakes Burn Camp is a non-profit organization that hosts two camps annually: one in the summer and one in the winter. These camps provide a unique and healing experience for burn-injured children, fostering self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being.
The Mustache Bash is a two-night event. The first night, “The Shave in,” participants shave their mustaches and donate $20 to kickstart their mustache-growing journey. The second night, a month later, everyone gathers to raise money and admire the mustaches (or lack thereof) that have grown over the past month. Some participants choose not to grow their mustaches but still contribute to the cause. All proceeds from the Mustache Bash are donated to the Great Lakes Burn Camp for Kids.
