The Rusty Rozzelle Environmental Scholarship Program supports students who care about clean water, healthy soil, and responsible land use in Mecklenburg County. Your gift helps recognize and encourage future conservation leaders. By contributing to this scholarship, you invest directly in local students studying fields such as environmental science, natural resources, and agriculture. Together, we can equip the next generation to protect our county’s soil and water for years to come. Rusty Rozzelle was an environmental leader and beloved colleague, who for 45 years, worked to maintain water quality in Mecklenburg County. He dedicated his life to improving local streams, creeks, lakes, and rivers. His love for environmental stewardship was surpassed only by his love for his coworkers who he supported and mentored unconditionally. We honor his legacy through scholarship awards to eligible high school seniors seeking or college students enrolled in environmental science curriculum and who may follow in Rusty’s footsteps by seeking careers in environmental stewardship in practice and policy.
