The text "I ❤️ Trans Books" is centered on a light purple textured background, framed by green cacti and colorful flowers on the sides.

When Fascism is on the rise, targeted communities are at risk. Since 2020, anti-Trans rhetoric and legislation has been increasing, but in the last year it has reached a fever pitch. The Black Trans Prayer Book, as an organization invested in utilizing education, the arts, and community power to disrupt anti-Trans violence, will be hosting the [Un]Banning Trans Book Fair in the Summer of 2027 alongside community partners. Featuring Trans authors, historians and educators, the [Un]Banning Trans Book Fair will be an immersive virtual event that will share resources and knowledge about Trans legacies through books, talk backs, strategy sessions and archival projects accessible to all attendees. This three-day event will accomplish the following: 1. Center Trans Authors, Historians and Educators on panels and in talk backs. 2. Stage a teach-in/strategy space for community members and educators trying to interrupt the intentional erasure of Trans stories and realities. 3. Buy and distribute Trans books to community members and educators who need them 4. With ongoing funding we will create a permanent library that centers books by Trans authors. Learn More here!
