A mother and her son in our community are facing an urgent crisis. Your gift today helps secure immediate essentials—safe housing, food, transportation—and wraps them in the practical support WILA champions for women and future leaders. 💜 At Women in Leadership Alliance, we believe no woman should walk through hardship alone. Your donation, in any amount, is a concrete act of care that gives this family stability now and room to rebuild with dignity and hope. 🙏 The family lives in an apartment in Newington, Connecticut, where the HVAC system has failed and caused significant water leakage through the walls and flooring. The apartment is currently wet, has a strong sewage-like odor, visible signs of mold, and a significant gnat problem. These conditions have made the home extremely difficult for the family to safely occupy. The mother has limited family support, works part-time, and does not currently have the financial resources to secure a hotel while this situation is being addressed. WILA is stepping in to advocate for this family. We are working to contact the property owner regarding the conditions in the apartment while also trying to secure funding to provide the mother and her son with at least a few nights of safe, temporary hotel accommodations, however we don’t know how long it will take to not only repair the HVAC system but to also  remove the mold and proper sanitation. This need is especially urgent because her son requires disability-related personal care each evening, including catheterization and a bathroom routine that must be performed in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.

URGENT HELP FOR A MOTHER & SON
