A bright orange heart peeks out of the pocket of a mint green scrub top, with a stethoscope draped over the shoulder against a plain white background.

She has been attending nursing school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and is scheduled to complete her program in early September. She has worked incredibly hard to get here and is now just weeks away from finishing. Recently, however, the nonprofit organization that had been helping fund her education unexpectedly lost anticipated grant funding and was no longer able to cover the remainder of her tuition. Since then, we have worked alongside her to explore multiple other funding resources and organizations. Despite those efforts, the remaining balance has not been covered. She currently has approximately $6,000 left on her nursing school balance. Although she will have completed the educational requirements of the program, the school will not allow her to graduate and move forward with the licensing process, including taking the NCLEX, until that balance is paid in full. We have watched this woman work far too hard and come far too far to allow a financial barrier at the very end of this journey to stop her now!
