The term, &quot;Tuskegee Airmen,&quot; refers to the men and women, African-Americans and Caucasians, who were involved in the &quot;Tuskegee Experience&quot;, the Army Air Corps program to train African-Americans to fly and maintain combat aircraft. &nbsp;The resilient and determined airmen&#39;s achievements, along with the training and support personnel, constitute an essential element of a consequential chapter in the history of the United States Air Force&mdash;defined by courage, professionalism, excellence in the face of adversity, and lasting impact on Air Force history. Detailed information is available <a fr-original-style="" href="https://tuskegeeairmen.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/2021-TAI-Media-Kit.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">HERE</a>. &nbsp; The Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Project at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is a multi-million-dollar initiative, sponsored and stewarded by the USAFA Association &amp; Foundation, to create a permanent, prominent memorial within the Academy&rsquo;s memorial landscape in Colorado. &nbsp;The USAFA Way of Life Alumni Group, Tuskegee Airmen Inc.(TAI), and Air Force Cadet Officer Mentor Association (AFCOMA) have formed a coalition to raise funds in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen. The coalition fundraising goal is $600,000, which will contribute to the $4,000,000 estimated cost of the overall project, through soliciting donations from alumni, friends of the USAFA, private donors, corporate partners, the aviation community, and any other interested party. &nbsp;The Ground Breaking Ceremony was held in September 2025 and construction is well underway. The Grand Opening/Dedication Ceremony is planned for the 1st Quarter of CY2027.&nbsp; This campaign represents an opportunity to engage in a nationally significant project that will educate and inspire cadets for generations&mdash;providing an historical example of what Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do really means. The memorial will not just commemorate bravery, &nbsp;independence, and history&mdash;it will shape it. &nbsp;When cadets see the memorial, they will be inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen&#39;s courage and discipline--the persistent will to overcome obstacles and seek excellence in the pursuit of service and duty. They will witness what is possible with determination and a will to accomplish the mission. We invite you to join us as a supporter. Leadership-level contributions of $10,000 or more&nbsp;will receive permanent recognition, consistent with established USAFA memorial and donor-recognition precedent.
