A new Vernian Lay Youth Group is now being created by the Ivrea Sisters of Charity of theImmaculate Conception, who own and operate the Verna Montessori School in BullskinTownship. The Ivrea Sisters are a worldwide organization, with numerous communities spreadover Italy, North America, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. Each community followsin the footsteps of their foundress, the Blessed Mother Antonia Maria Verna, by primarilyserving the needs of children, who are the most innocent and in greatest need of a loving hand. The Vernian Youth Group's purpose is to gather together a new generation of young people tobring them closer to God and to discover the beauty of service to Him and to others. Themission of the Vernian Lay Youth Group is to help them grow in the virtues of humility, simplicity,and charity, and to discover the vocation(s) to which the Lord is calling them. The group plansto engage in faith formation activities and various types of community service activities,especially geared toward the poor and vulnerable. This year, members of the new Vernian Lay Youth Group hope to complete a pilgrimage to Rome,Italy, to attend the 2025 Jubilee celebrations in order to encourage and strengthen them fortheir upcoming mission. If you can find it in your hearts to help them in their journey, and theywill be most grateful.
