Our StoryJoy&rsquo;s Place Animal Rescue is a completely volunteer-run shelter serving cats in rural Shawano County. The shelter has grown faster than we ever imagined &mdash; we regularly care for up to 50 cats, our maximum capacity &mdash; and the absence of running water has become a real challenge. All water for drinking and cleaning has to be hauled in, and all bedding and food dishes must currently be taken off-site for washing, which makes daily care time-consuming and harder to maintain proper sanitation. To continue providing a safe, healthy space for cats and a functional workspace for volunteers, we plan to install a well, wastewater holding tank, ADA-compliant bathroom, electric, plumbing, and HVAC upgrades, plus a commercial washer, dryer, and dishwasher for cleaning bedding, towels, and dishes efficiently and safely.
