🌼 Our MissionThe Sweet Magnolia Fund (TSMF) is a resource-redistribution and landback organization rooted in the belief that Black and Indigenous Trans &amp; LGBQIA+ artists deserve abundant, autonomous, and joy-filled lives in Mississippi. We exist to nourish that possibility. Founded in 2020 by Mississippi-born Black Trans &amp; Queer artists Jazmine Walker and D. Floyd, TSMF was created from a deep love for our communities and a commitment to building the kinds of spaces we&rsquo;ve always needed. By 2022, we became the first and only mutual aid fund in Mississippi founded and led by Black Trans &amp; Queer artists&mdash;an accomplishment built from resilience, vision, and interdependence.&nbsp;We redistribute resources, return land to community stewardship, restore cultural memory &amp; bodily sovereignty, &nbsp;as well create environments where Black and Indigenous Trans &amp; Queer people can flourish through art, rest, healing, and collective power. 🌼 Why&nbsp;This Work MattersMississippi is home to extraordinary Black and Aboriginal creativity, brilliance, and cultural legacy&mdash;but it is also a place where systemic, religious, and xenophobic violence threaten the safety and thriving of LGBTQIA+ people. Discriminatory policies and oppressive norms silence our voices, isolate our artists, and strip our people of the resources and recognition they deserve. Black Queer &amp; Trans Mississippians navigate these challenges daily, often with little to no access to supportive, affirming, and culturally grounded spaces.
