41 Puppies in less than 30 Days Over the past four weeks, we rescued 41 puppies and their mothers, including two severely ill litters suffering from Parvovirus and Canine Alphaherpesvirus. With the McDowell County Animal Shelter at full capacity and another shelter ready to euthanize a mother and her pups. Despite our rescue being overwhelmed, I had no choice but the step in. &nbsp; We quickly coordinated with local veterinarians, our amazing fosters and volunteers, and my small but tireless staff to provide 24/7 care. &nbsp;Thanks to our dedicated efforts, isolating each litter in separate spaces, implementing a 14-day lockdown at the rescue, maintaining a consistent temperature of 99&minus;104 degrees in the quarantine areas, administering subcutaneous fluids, providing syringe feedings, and crucial medical treatments such as antiviral and antibacterial medications, along with an innovative treatment for Parvo called Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody, we successfully saved every single puppy and mother dog. In addition we&#39;ve arranged transport for many of the pups to our Northern Rescue partners where approved adopters are waiting to take them into loving homes.&nbsp; However, these efforts come at a cost. The physical and emotional toll is evident, and a substantial vet bill is pending. All of this, on top of the daily operations required to care for the 30 dogs currently residing at our rescue.&nbsp; We respectfully request donations to support our ongoing mission and to help cover our latest vet bills totalling over $5,000. &nbsp; Your generous contribution ensures ongoing medical care, a nurturing environment, and a second chance for these deserving animals.
