On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, a glacier collapse near the Nepal-Tibet border sent a wall of water down the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers. The water rose nine meters in thirty minutes, with no warning. Bridges, roads, and homes were destroyed across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading.
