🌟 Join us in Creating Change! 🌟Joyfully and with determination, the Connecticut Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry organizes our Connecticut UU congregations and justice-seeking friends. We partner with affected communities to create the world we dream of, through imagination and transformative justice and grounded in our values, centered in love.  In other words, we show up for justice-making partners across the state, ready to help them with the work. And we bring each other along!  Change starts with people like you. Every act of kindness, every dollar, and every moment of your time brings us closer to achieving our mission. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all. These contributions will enable us to launch the four elements of our first major project:  1. Legislative Advocacy: Following the lead of Equality Connecticut and Reproductive Equity Now, we will advocate at the state capitol, including for protection of trans healthcare resources following the closure of two major gender-affirming healthcare programs for young people.  2. Trans Resettlement Infrastructure: Guided by feasibility surveys, we will lead the effort to develop a network of support and practical assistance for trans people relocating from more hostile states.  3. Support for Trans Residents: Using our network of support and practical assistance for trans people relocating from more hostile states, we will assist trans folks already living here who are experiencing hardship related to gender identity. Particularly in our congregations, but also perhaps beyond, we will be engaging an educational campaign to help cis folks in particular become better prepared to support trans folks in our communities.  4. Education: Engaging an educational campaign to prepare individuals and communities, particularly our congregations, to better support the trans folks of Connecticut.  Importantly, we are the only faith body in Connecticut actively partnering with Reproductive Equity Now and Equality Connecticut, filling an important gap in the moral voice of legislative advocacy. This is work we are uniquely positioned to do.
