Happy City item
Happy City
$10
Pre-loved editions of Happy City are available for purchase. Our Little Rock will be hosting a book club meet-up at the end of February to discuss. A little about the book: Charles Montgomery's book Happy City reveals how cities can shape our thoughts as well as our behavior. The message is ultimately as surprising as it is hopeful: by retrofitting cities and our own lives for happiness, we can tackle the urgent challenges of our age. The happy city can save the world―and we can all help build it.

Original Artwork - Stifft's Station item
Original Artwork - Stifft's Station
$550
Title: Halloween at Stifft’s Station Artist: Carley Brown Size: 16" x 12" Description: People walking around and celebrating Halloween along Stifft's Station's commercial strip. Materials: Acrylic on canvas. ___________________________________________________ My Little Rock Story Originally, I fell in love with Downtown Little Rock’s unique shops and sculpture garden along the river. As I explored more, I discovered more unique shops, food and great views. I’m especially fond of the SoMa area. It’s so quaint and romantic. I have a particular love for Loblolly for their treats and colorful decor and the good memories created every time I stop by. I also love Stifft’s Station. The layout of the buildings and the businesses that are there have so much potential. I love the mural that welcomes you to that area and the coffee at Rose Garden Market & Co. A more livable Little Rock to me has affordable housing in walkable areas. It’d be great to live in SoMa or Stifft’s Station and walk down the street to grab a coffee or being able to enjoy a stroll to a park. But we need to do this in a way that doesn’t displace people out of areas they can’t afford. Artist Profile I love to create and view the world through different lenses. While I can work with different mediums, my favorite is oil because I can take my time. I love painting people and incorporating 2D elements in my work. 8x10 Print - Rooftop Cafe item
8x10 Print - Rooftop Cafe
$10
Title: Cool Cat Rooftop Cafe Artist: Shelby Brewer Size & Materials: 8"x10" reproduction print. Original piece was created using paper, scissors and glue. Description: Cat people enjoying the sunset from a rooftop bar overlooking the Little Rock skyline. ________________________________________________________ My Little Rock Story: I moved from Northwest Arkansas to Little Rock 23 years ago, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. As a graduate in my 20s with a communications degree, it was easy for me to find jobs and support and make friends through the numerous networking opportunities that Little Rock had to offer. As an artist, I have been blown away by how much the Little Rock community embraces art and culture. Virtually every week, you can find some art-related event happening somewhere in the city. I am also impressed by how much Little Rock’s artists support each other. Friends who have moved here from other parts of the country have told me how hard it is to be an artist in larger cities because the artists there are fiercely competitive, but in my experience, the artists in Little Rock are always friendly, helpful, and encouraging. I also love Little Rock’s diverse neighborhoods, its exploding culinary scene, and its abundance of opportunities to enjoy nature. I chose the Agasi 7 Rooftop because I’m a big fan of dining al fresco and I love taking in the beautiful downtown skyline. I wish there were more opportunities in Little Rock to enjoy both at once! To me, a more livable Little Rock would be one with a more accessible mass transit system and more walkable neighborhoods. In too many parts of the city, sidewalks are nowhere to be found. In addition, I wish the River Market District had more shops and galleries for things to do in between eating and drinking. And one day I hope that we will realize the full potential of the Arkansas River with more riverfront facing attractions. Artist Profile: I channel my obsession with cats into art to make people smile and laugh. I make hand-cut collages using materials scoured from vintage magazines, books, and record albums. Original Artwork - Parading through the Gardens item
Original Artwork - Parading through the Gardens
$175
Title: Parading Through The Garden Artists: Marianne Nolley with help from Eloise Wilkins, 6 years old. Size: 11"x17" Description: Gibbs students parade through Dunbar Community Garden for Earth Day Materials: Markers and fountain pen ___________________________________________________ My Little Rock Story I always wanted out of Arkansas. Leaving Little Rock only made me love it more. I did my student teaching at Gibbs under the incredible Susan Purvis and have spent many hours working in Dunbar Garden. The parades through the garden have always felt magical. My children now attend Gibbs and the magic continues. My 6 year old daughter is a fantastic artist and assisted in the creation of this piece. A more livable Little Rock focuses on building community in meaningful and sustainable ways. I have three children and sometimes everything is just.. Hard. Having a strong network for meals, play, art etc is so important to not just survival but thriving in this place we call home. Artist Profile I don’t know how not to be an artist. I have been an art educator for over a decade so I can do a little of it all, but I prefer methods that involve lots of steps and layers. Fibers is near and dear to me. But, I also love printmaking and photography. I just want to do it all. Portfolio: mnolleycreative.com Contact: Text- 501580-6274

Original Artwork - Early Morning Light on Central High item
Original Artwork - Early Morning Light on Central High
$175
Title: Early Morning Light on Central High School Artist: Lexi Adams Size: 18"x27" reproduction print of a digitally spliced triptych on watercolor paper. Original three Polaroid images framed beside it. Description: Three snapshots of Central High School photographed on a morning neighborhood walk with Claire and Pancake. Photographed with Polaroid 600 Film on a Polaroid Impulse camera. Materials: Polaroid 600 film. ___________________________________________________ My Little Rock Story I took these Polaroids on a morning walk with my friend, Claire, and her dog, Pancake, who live in the Central High neighborhood. On the walk, we waved to neighbors, spoke to a few out-of-town families touring the school, and met a brilliant local artist, Lorria Grant-Eubanks, working on her new mural of The Little Rock Nine. What I love most about Little Rock is walking with friends and meeting new friends along the way. These snapshots capture that warm community feeling, to me. I really love the walkable, pedestrian-friendly areas in Little Rock that are throughout some of our neighborhoods and clusters of shops. A more livable Little Rock would have more of this. Folks without access to transportation or who just want to use their cars less should be able to walk reasonable distances to grab food and essentials and enjoy cool parts of the city. Artist Profile I’m a Central Arkansas-based artist who has been practicing instant photography for over a decade. In the midst of my work as a professional photographer, instant film like Polaroid offers a new way of seeing, one that pairs playful intentionality with an acceptance of things outside of my control. When not out taking pictures, I am one third of Wig Dog Press, a local press printing art on repurposed fabrics. Title: Dadiwi Andouille* (On the Threshold) Artist: Sulac Dimensions and Materials: 8"x10" reproduction print. Original artwork of ink, collage, acrylic on a 16"x20" canvas My Little Rock Story: Moving here in ‘97 from SW Texas, my first impression of Little Rock was appreciating that there’s trees, hills and you can drink the water. I was planning to be here temporarily, but why would I go anywhere else? I chose to capture the Commerce Street Bridge over 630 because I thought it would be cool to do a thing over a thing. I’d like to see more being done for the homeless population with shelters and mental health services. Artist Profile I don’t know what I would do if I wasn’t creating something. I might go crazy. I like playing around with different mediums. For subjects, I enjoy creating cats, bunnies, ladies and buildings. Portfolio: Instagram @sulacartstuff Contact: Email. [email protected] *Sulac's daughter named this piece. It's the first artwork by him she's titled.

Original Artwork - Dancing in the Plaza
$625
Title: Dancing in the Plaza Artist: Jessica Jones Size: 16" x 20" Description: A couple dancing in Plaza Frida Materials: Acrylic on canvas. ___________________________________________________ My Little Rock Story I love Little Rock because it’s the melting pot of Arkansas. There’s a lot to do and see if you know where to look for it. Little Rock has a heart for growth in the community as a whole. I chose to feature Plaza Frida because it’s a hub for Latino culture. It's a beautiful place and one that’s not as well-known. I wanted to highlight it for these reasons. A more Livable Little Rock has more public art, parks, music, and things that draw the community together for the whole spectrum of people. Artist Profile Jessica Jones Being an artist is what fills me with passion and makes me feel complete. It’s a true privilege to do this full time.
