Donations help with intake fees of owner surrenders, allows us to buy horses at auction and cover their intake fees. Care for current equine. We currently have 21 horses in the rescue, 7 of those being 16 and older.  Our hay bill runs between $2,250 a month, With trims being $35, dental starting at $80, all health maintenance such as deworming, veterinarian care and training for those who needed it. Saddle trading is $1,000 a month. This does not include any specialty equipment we need to care for the unhandled or unsafe animals.  We take in both domestic horses and Mustangs, both of which the majority we get in are not saddle safe, saddle broke or gentled at all. We do our best to rehabilitate what animals so we can place them in forever homes. The pasture pets or not yet gentled, are more ikely to have a longer stay and with an increase in cost of care.  </div><div><p style="margin:0px;padding:0px;user-select:text;-webkit-user-drag:none;overflow-wrap:break-word;white-space:pre-wrap;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;vertical-align:baseline;font-kerning:none;text-align:left;text-indent:0px"> <p style="margin:0px;padding:0px;user-select:text;-webkit-user-drag:none;overflow-wrap:break-word;white-space:pre-wrap;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;vertical-align:baseline;font-kerning:none;text-align:left;text-indent:0px">  In order to save horses at auction, take in owner surrenders, and take ones removed we first need to care for our current horses. Costs do not stop after funds are raised to purchase them, we still need to provide medical care and rehabilitation before rehoming along with continuing care if the horse is not adopted. We must be able to rehome horses to continue to bring horses in. Rehoming also provides adequate space to quarantine new rescues. </div><div><p style="margin:0px;padding:0px;user-select:text;-webkit-user-drag:none;overflow-wrap:break-word;white-space:pre-wrap;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;vertical-align:baseline;font-kerning:none;text-align:left;text-indent:0px">   <p style="margin:0px;padding:0px;user-select:text;-webkit-user-drag:none;overflow-wrap:break-word;white-space:pre-wrap;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;vertical-align:baseline;font-kerning:none;text-align:left;text-indent:0px"> Once funds are covered for care needs, we have large items that would greatly benefit such as a tilt chute as I stated we get a lot of unhandled, barely handled and some aggressive horses in. This also increases costs because we have to send more of the horses out for training. A covered work area would allow more days of training here at the rescue and get the horse ready to adopt sooner, decreasing training fees and care cost with a quicker adoption rate. A covered area also allows us to offer more educational opportunities and to offer more time for our Veterans program. </div><div> </div>
