As all of you are aware, it is very expensive to be a part of our Pom program.  We still operate a budget that is spread across 10 months, but as the world has become more expensive, so has the cost to participate in this program.  We now charge each dancer $550 a month to be on Edison Pom, which encompasses all of the fees needed to be on the team.  This is a huge financial burden for most families and it is becoming difficult to recruit potential dancers and to keep them for the 4 year duration of the high school program.  My hope is that the Alumni Scholarship Fund will help cut costs for deserving dancers and help our program continue to grow! Each Spring, we will be asking Alumni and their families to contribute back to the Pom program that helped to shape them during their high school years.  This fund will alleviate a portion of the costs for dancers that apply for the scholarship.  We will have an Alumni scholarship committee review the applications and recommend as many dancers as we are able to help in the following season.  Some of the attributes we will be looking for in choosing scholarship recipients will be community involvement, school involvement, academic achievements, and financial need.  Just imagine the impact all of our alumni and their families could have in our current dancers' lives!   - Coach Sarah
