🌟 Join us in Creating Change! 🌟 We are the neighbors and tenants who are fighting displacement and gentrification in Boyle Heights on Wabash and Evergreen. Private developers have been fast tract via ED-1 (Executive Directive 1) through an executive order through Mayor Bass. Wo by way of this order created a loophole to developers to create housing using the term "Affordable" but is not affordable to the communities they are developing in, and, in turn harming our communities by not allowing access to this so called housing! Our Slogan AFFORDABLE TO WHO!? What the developers have done so far, They have demolished a 1929 Historical Building, They have destroyed a community mural of teens who have fallen victim to violence and protected mural under mural ordinance of Los Angeles. No notice to neighbors or day care center next door of demolition to whom are also elderly. They have already started to block all our very limited parking for their construction workers. Our community is angry and we want these developments to meet our demands and make it proper housing that meets our income qualifications. Most Boyle Heights residents make 25,000 - 40,000 year and the data median income is $45,xxx . This development is also in a neighborhood that is suffering from PARKING DISPARITIES, and has been allowed ZERO PARKING SPACES FOR 55 UNITS. They have no plans to hear our concerns or meet our demands until we file an ADMINISTRATIVE APPEAL and seek a lawsuit.  ED-1 is harmful to ALL OF LOS ANGELES. Developers disguise corporate benefit as community benefit and at the highest bracket of affordability. It does not serve us when most people are living in poverty and below a livable income. Gentrification is violent.  We have since created a Collective called ND-1 in opposition to ED-1 and bringing it back to centering our neighborhood voices. Neighborhood Directive 1. We are the neighbors, small business and allies who are fighting for rightful benefits of our community.  These donations go directly to our efforts in obtaining legal counsel and fees for our appeal. Time is of the essence and we deeply appreciate any amount donated.
