Welcome to the 2024- 25 Friends of King (FOK) Annual Fund Drive, our school’s most important fundraiser. Instead of doing multiple fundraisers throughout the year, Friends of King asks for ONE DONATION to cover the ENTIRE year. It can be a one-time or monthly donation, and it covers the programs your child participates in. The money raised between now and October 11, 2024  also helps fund scholarships for our programming.  Above all, FOK exists to ensure equity across our school: 3 Magnets, One Heart.  Did you know, all of these are made possible by YOUR donations to Friends of King? Field Trip BusesField Trip ScholarshipsCampus Beautification TeacherProjects/WishlistsTeacher AppreciationTechnology Upgrades LiteracyAfter-School ProgramsTutoring A huge part of what makes King such a special school is these enrichment programs, but we are in danger of having to reduce funding if we don’t achieve our goal. LAUSD  Schools are facing a variety  of  budget cuts this year and we have to reach out to our community. Please do your part to ensure that when a student crosses the threshold, they enter a thriving, progressive, attentive and inclusive community that enriches their lives forever.  Each year we need to raise $100,000 to fund these opportunities. If every family was able to give $60, we would reach our goal! However, $60 is too much to spare for many families:  King is a Title 1 school and currently 71% of our students fall within that bracket. To support all the families at King, we are asking all who can afford it, to donate a minimum of $216. Please feel free to reach out to family, friends, employers and community members as well! All donations are tax-deductible.  If you have the means to give more, we encourage you to give as much as you can. There is no gift too big or too small.
