ON NOVEMBER 13TH, GRACIE BARRA STUDENTS WILL BE DRILLING AND SPARRING ON THE MATS CONTINUOUSLY AT OUR WISCONSIN AND ILLINOIS ACADEMIES FOR TWELVE HOURS IN ORDER TO RAISE MONEY FOR OUR GRACIE BARRA AMBASSADOR PROGRAM.  THERE WILL BE A LIVE INSTAGRAM FEED FROM THE JIU JITS-U-THON LOCATIONS FOR OUR DONORS TO VIEW OUR DEDICATED STUDENTS IN ACTION!  MORE DETAILS WILL BE GIVEN IN THE DONATION RECEIPT.

WHAT IS JIU JITSU?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is often referred to as the "Gentle Art" because it focuses on controlling/subduing an aggressor, usually by taking them to the ground, without striking or kicking.Unlike other martial arts, BJJ provides practical self-defense and anti-bully strategies among a myriad of other benefits, to the Gracie Barra student - of any age and fitness level.

WHO IS AN AMBASSADOR

Gracie Barra Ambassadors are the carefully selected representatives of Gracie Barra and the philosophy of our founder Master Carlos Gracie, Jr.. These athletes embody the moral code of Gracie Barra - integrity, respect, brother(sister)hood and development, among the many other ideal qualities too often lacking in our schools and communities. GB Ambassadors are required to train hard and often, adhere to a vigorous competition schedule, assist coaching and most importantly, are held as role models for our youth in the academy and community. The Ambassador role requires above all to model exemplary behavior on and off the mats. Ambassadors are also responsible for assisting in fundraising events like this one to support this important program.

WHERE IS MY $ GOING

GBA IL relies solely on donations, fundraising events and volunteers.100% of your donation will be used to help fund the intense BJJ journey of an Ambassador including training and competition fees, travel costs, and uniform expenses which currently cost $3,000 to $4,000 yearly for each Ambassador as well as anti-bully, self-defense and other special programs for the community.. A tax receipt will be emailed following a donation.
