Creating Opportunities for Girls in Dowa, Kasungu, and Mchinji Districts in Malawi's Central Region
AGE Africa's work is truly inspiring. We provide education, life skills, and leadership development programs to young women in areas where poverty and limited opportunities hinder their success. Through our efforts, these young women are given the tools they need to succeed and break the cycle of poverty in their communities.
I saw the impact of AGE Africa's work firsthand this September when I visited. It is incredible to see how our programs are transforming the lives of these scholars and giving them hope for a brighter future.
As a predominantly tobacco-growing region, young girls in these districts are frequently forced into fieldwork, child marriage, or early pregnancy.
Reports show that in these three districts
- Over half of girls work outside the home, keeping them from school
- 50% marry or have children before 18
- Only 7% complete high school
AGE Africa is successfully breaking the cycle. One girl at a time.
Today AGE Africa is helping girls in 25 central-region partner schools attend and stay in school, but we can do more. You can help us do more. A contribution toward my goal of $1,000 will enable AGE Africa to continue supporting our scholars and thereby immediately stifle the ongoing cycle of child labor. 95% of AGE Africa Scholars complete their education.
Your support can make a significant difference in AGE Africa's mission— immediately and impactfully. Your contribution can help provide scholarships, textbooks, uniforms, and other necessary resources to these young women. With your help, AGE Africa can make a greater impact and empower even more young women to achieve their dreams.
On behalf of AGE Africa and the young women they serve, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for any support offered. Please share this message with your networks to help raise awareness of AGE Africa's important work.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
