Meet Charlie: A Little Dog with a Whole Lot of Heart Eleven years ago, over Christmas Break, Charlie found his way into our hearts. At 8 years old, he had come from a local hoarding case and had been at WCHS since that May. Once his court case closed he could finally be placed up for adoption. We had recently lost our beloved 9-year-old pup to cancer, and while we could never replace the love we lost, we had room in our hearts for another little soul who needed a home. That Christmas, we found Charlie. Today, Charlie is living the spoiled life he always deserved! Scrambled eggs most mornings, bone broth softened food (he's now lost most of his teeth!), and as many snuggles with Mom (his favorite human) as he can possibly get. These days, Charlie can barely see or hear, but don't let that fool you — this little guy still has some pep in his step and a whole lot of love to give. He reminds us that life isn't about how well you see or hear the world around you, but how much love you feel in it. At an age when some might have overlooked him, Charlie still had so much life left to live, so many cuddles to give, and so much joy to bring. Eleven years later, he's still showing us that a little dog with a big heart can leave the biggest paw prints on your soul. Senior dogs aren't leftovers. They're love stories still being written. And Charlie's is one of our very favorites.

And Charlie's is one of our very favorites.
