Your donation helps us to accept more pets in need into our program when their owner’s are in crisis and temporarily unable to care for them. Our program prevents pet owners from having to permanently surrender their pets to shelters and rescue organizations. We are also able to assist in the delay of care for folks in need of medical, mental health, and chemical dependency treatment. We serve veterans, domestic violence survivors, families who’ve experienced a house fire, people experiencing housing instability, and folks in a variety of other challenging situations. Our program provides preventative services as well in the form of community outreach to those who fit our mission.  As awareness of our organization grows, so does the number of requests for respite foster placement of pets. Because we do not charge a fee to pet owners in crisis for the services we provide, we rely entirely on public support. However, we absolutely welcome past program participants to close the circle by volunteering or donating in whatever way they are able once they’ve regained stability.  Pets often come to us needing vaccinations updated, to have any medical conditions addressed, microchipping, and to be spayed or neutered. As an organization we provide for their basic veterinary expenses, as well as to provide for their food while they’re in placement with us. Whenever possible, we LOVE to supply our foster homes with toys, treats, a crate, cat litter, cat scratcher/tower, etc. Doing so allows pets in our program to settle in more easily after what is often a period of high stress for their family. We call this a “Foster Family Supply Kit.”Our program allows for pets to stay for up to 12 months, as long as pet owners are maintaining contact with us and actively working toward regaining stability.
