The Harrison Township Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Advisory Board (IDEA Board) is back with our second annual PrideFest celebration, and this time, we are partnering with 501(c)(3) nonprofit Salem County Pride+ to make the event even bigger, its reach even broader, and its appeal more inclusive than ever. On June 21, 2025 at Safe Haven at Keneva Farm, we will throw a bash that embraces the queer community and allies while raising funds and friends for both Salem County Pride+ and Safe Haven. With comedian Betty J Smithsonian as emcee and Laura Cheadle &amp; the Girls as headliners, PrideFest 2025 promises to draw hundreds, and we invite you to be an integral part of it.  After the overwhelming success of last year’s packed event at the American Legion in Mullica Hill, we needed a new venue with more space and endless possibilities for a rich, family-friendly experience. Safe Haven at Keneva Farm is a 65-acre sanctuary for rescued farm animals, including horses, cows, goats, dogs, and other livestock. The farm’s mission is Rescued Animals, Rescuing People, and Safe Haven delivers on that promise. In addition to hosting events like PrideFest and a Special Events for Special Kids celebration, Safe Haven is also home to supportive therapy for teens, many of whom are looking for affirmation and community as they discover and embrace their gender identity or sexual orientation.  Last year’s popular activities, including live music, art projects, jewelry making, face painting, makeup artistry, and informational and retail vendors will return, while new animal encounters at the Rainbow Ranch, food and beverage trucks, and a Chase the Rainbow color run and walk through beautiful on-site trails will make this year’s expanded festival a must-do event for Pride month. We have already received a number of inquiries from vendors, sponsors, and attendees about this year’s event. Our goal is to promote the many local resources that are inclusive and supportive of people of all identities, orientations, lifestyles, backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, and abilities. We will provide a safe, joyous space for our neighbors far and wide, in both Gloucester and Salem County and beyond, to feel the embrace of our welcoming community. IDEA is solely an advisory board, and last year’s first-time event was funded entirely through individual and corporate donations to individual community volunteers. This year, with Salem County Pride+ as co-host, sponsors will make tax-deductible contributions to a 501(c)(3).
