NWI Disaster Relief Support
As Northwest Indiana continues to recover from this week’s devastating storms and widespread power outages, ACF Chefs of Northwest Indiana is exploring an emergency pop-up to provide free food, refreshments, and essential supplies to members of our community. We are reaching out to company representatives, ACF members, chefs, vendors, sponsors, and community partners for any assistance you may be able to provide. Donations could include:Bottled water and other beveragesIndividually wrapped snacks and grab-and-go itemsBread, deli meats, cheese, and sandwich suppliesRaw, par-cooked, or fully cooked food productsPaper products, disposable containers, utensils, napkins, and bagsTents, tables, chairs, coolers, ice, generators, and other event suppliesRefrigerated trucks, cooking equipment, or transportationSchool supplies, backpacks, notebooks, writing supplies, and other essentials for children returning to schoolVolunteers to prepare, package, serve, set up, clean up, or distribute donationsAny other products, supplies, equipment, or resources that could help families affected by the stormsIf we can secure enough products, equipment, and volunteers, we would love to provide hot meals. If resources are limited, we will keep it simple and distribute whatever we can, including water, sandwiches, individually wrapped items, school supplies, and other necessities. Many of our chefs and volunteers are dealing with outages and storm damage at home, at work, or both. Even so, we want to bring together whatever resources are available and do something meaningful for our community. With school right around the corner and many families already struggling, even the smallest contribution can make a real difference. We are still determining the date and location based on the support we receive. If you can donate products, supplies, equipment, time, or assistance in any capacity, please reach out to me as soon as possible.Any level of support would be greatly appreciated. Together, we can help Northwest Indiana get through this difficult time.
