5 Strong Scholarship Foundation empowers student leaders in Metro Atlanta by providing scholarships and resources for their post-secondary education. Our mission is to support scholars through college readiness programs and funding opportunities.

As we continue to raise funds to support the scholars and the foundation, we are hosting our 3rd Annual Scholarship Gala Saturday, December 9th, 2023 . The goal is to increase funds to support programming for College Ready Prep Sessions and campus visits. The funds from the Gala will allow us the opportunity to continue to provide funding for our current and future scholars.

Our 5th Annual Scholarship Gala is on Saturday, December 13th, 2025. The goal is to secure funds to support programming for College Ready Prep Sessions and campus visits. I created this scholarship to honor my dear sister and biggest cheerleader,&nbsp;Dedra Ragland Monagan. Unfortunately, Dedra (affectionately known as&nbsp;Dee Dee&nbsp;or&nbsp;Diva Dee) passed away several years ago after a battle with breast cancer.Dedra was a strong, resilient, and unwavering woman who dedicated herself to raising&nbsp;Breast Cancer Awareness&nbsp;and supporting other women facing the disease. She was also a dedicated fan, supporter, and volunteer for the&nbsp;5 Strong Scholarship Foundation.The&nbsp;Dedra Ragland Monagan Memorial Scholarship&nbsp;will continue her legacy by awarding a scholarship to&nbsp;two senior female 5 Strong Scholars. These recipients will be selected based on the same perseverance and determination Dedra embodied as they work steadfastly toward completing their college degrees in four years or less.Any donation you can offer toward the Dedra Ragland Monagan Memorial Scholarship would be deeply appreciated as we keep her spirit of strength and service alive.
