The Linda Jo Donley Teaching Scholarship is awarded annually to those who want to be professional educators – especially in rural areas. The scholarship was initiated by the friends and family of Mrs. Donley and continues to grow. Mrs. Donley was born in Bell County, Texas in 1945 and spent most of her life in education in the area. After a long and amazing career, she retired from Academy Independent School District where she touched the lives of many and made meaningful, lasting friendships; despite retirement, she remained a loving, kind and nurturing teacher every moment of her life. Ms. Donley leaves a legacy of countless who love, cherish and miss her. They wish to honor Linda’s love of teaching by helping to pass on the opportunity to be an educator.
