Proporciona una forma duradera de almacenar carbono en el suelo y evitar que regrese a la atm&oacute;sfera como di&oacute;xido de carbono. Hecho al calentar materiales org&aacute;nicos como residuos agr&iacute;colas o forestales en un ambiente de baja ox&iacute;geno, el biochar estabiliza el carbono que las plantas absorbieron originalmente del aire a trav&eacute;s de la fotos&iacute;ntesis. Solar-powered irrigation for Xiomara in Nicaragua

We&#39;re raising $1,300 by 8/31/26 to bring a solar-powered irrigation system to woman farmer Xiomara in Nicaragua. &nbsp;Sometimes, change begins with one ambitious person who sees the value a sustainable solution. Xiomara and her family grow tomatoes and bell peppers on their 1.7 acre farm in Nicaragua, which are sold in local markets in Managua and Jinotega. They rely on a gas generator to irrigate the farm since rain is unpredictable and scarce in the dry season. The generator is expensive and causes noise pollution. Asplund Earth Alliance is working with Xiomara to bring a solar-powered drip irrigation system to her farm, to reduce costs and emissions and to demonstrate to neighboring farms that solar can provide year-round irrigation, increasing crop yields, repairing soil, and reducing costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
