Autistic Pride Chattanooga
Autistic Pride Chattanooga is an autistic‑led grassroots 501(c)(3) organization changing how Chattanooga talks about autism. We are building a city where autistic people can exist safely, joyfully, and “unmasked,” and where autistic leadership shapes the conversation, the culture, and the future.Your contribution supports our year‑round autistic‑led advocacy, community partnership, and education on autism and the lived experience of autistic adults. It strengthens our collaborations with local businesses, universities, mental health professionals, and organizations seeking lived‑experience insight. It also supports Autistics for Safe Food, our mutual aid program addressing ARFID and food insecurity through community care, food access, community advocacy, and restoring the dignity of food choice. In 2026, we successfully held the Southeast’s first Autistic Pride Day. In 2027, we will hold one of the first consecutive Autistic Pride Days in the United States, establishing a growing cultural tradition created by autistic people, for autistic people. Autistic Pride Day is the centerpiece of our cultural work: a sensory‑considerate, welcoming environment where autistic adults, youth, and families can gather without pressure to perform or hide who they are. It offers entertaining panels, cultural connection, creative expression, and opportunities for connection that reflect autistic culture and lived experience. It also strengthens our ability to bring together partners across Chattanooga who are committed to building a city where autistic people are not merely accommodated, but welcomed and valued.Your support also helps us expand our upcoming autistic‑led retreats and our community care series, “How to Be Autistic,” which provides practical tools, shared language, and lived‑experience guidance from autistic adults for autistic adults. We are building a “Good Goose” campaign to teach our allies and families how to best support autistic and neurodiverse people, because we are all learning how to build community together. These programs deepen community connection, build collective knowledge, and create spaces where autistic people can learn, rest, and grow without pressure to “mask.”Thank you for supporting this work and standing with us as we build a Chattanooga shaped by autistic leadership, community partnership, and shared commitment. Your contribution makes this possible, and we’re grateful to be doing this work alongside you.Learn more and connect with us at chattautisticpride.org
